Korea v South Africa

> In each of the last two Olympic Games, Korea have beaten South Africa 3-0.
> Their last competitive encounter at the 2006 World Cup ended in a goalless draw.
> Korea have lost all four matches played so far at Beijing 2008.
> Korea have conceded most goals at Beijing 2008 (16).
> South Africa have failed to score so far, and are still chasing their first point at Beijing 2008.


Netherlands v Spain

> Spain have taken on the Netherlands in three previous Olympic matches, losing on all three occasions.
> At Sydney 2000, the Dutch beat Spain 2-1 in the 2nd round and 2-0 in the bronze medal match.
> At Atlanta 1996 the Netherlands won 4-2.
> The Netherlands have already qualified for the semi-finals.
> The Dutch have finished in the top 4 in five of the previous six Olympics.
> Spain will most likely play the Final 7-8 on Wednesday, 20 August.
> Leading goalscorer Maartje Paumen has collected seven goals. The record for most goals scored in a single edition is eight and is jointly held by Alyson Annan (AUS, 1996), Chang Eun-Jung (KOR, 1996), Lisanne Lejeune (NED 1988) and Beth Anders (USA, 1984).
> Paumen is also closing in on Mijntje Donners' record for all-time Dutch goalscorer at the Olympics (9 goals).
> Paumen has scored in all four of Holland's matches at Beijing 2004.


China v Australia

> The only previous Olympic encounter between these teams came at Sydney 2000 with Australia beating China 5-1.
> Nikki Hudson scored twice in that match.
> Last May, Australia drew three all with China at the Champions Trophy in Möchengladbach.
> Australia need to win this match to qualify for the semi-finals.
> China need at least a draw against Australia to reach the semi-finals.
> China can reach the semi-finals for the second time. At Athens 2004, China finished fourth.
> Australia have reached the last four on four occasions, the last time at Sydney 2000.
> Australia have scored most goals at Beijing 2008 (15) after four match rounds, whereas China have the best defence with only two goals conceded.
> Fu Bao Rong is the leading goal scorer in the China squad with five goals at Beijing 2008.
> Fu Bao Rong's Olympic career tally is now eight, whereas Tang Chunling has now scored a total of nine goals at the Olympics.
