Olympic Heroes at “Live the Dream” talk show Monchengladbach
The indoor sports hall of the Gladbacher Hockey & Tennis Club was turned into a Live Hockey stage on Saturday when several Olympic Hockey Heroes answered questions from more than 200 kids from all over Germany
The participating children had just finished the two days National Schools Tournament, with the best school from each ‘Bundesstaat’ (province) being represented.
The following Olympic Hockey Heroes took part:
4 players of the German National Women’s team – on their way to the Olympics:
- Natascha Keller (Beijing being her 4th Olympics!)
- Marion Rodewald (Captain, triple Olympian as well)
- Janne Müller-Wieland
- Anneke Böhmert
2 Olympic Legends:
- Florian Kunz, Germany (FIH Player of the year 2001; Olympic Player at Sydney and Athens)
- Floris-Jan Bovelander, the Netherlands (Triple Olympian: Seoul, Barcelona, Atlanta. Olympic Gold medalist at Atlanta Olympics)
2 Olympic & FIH Coaches:
- Markus Weise (Coach of the German Women’s Olympic Gold medalist team in Athens and current coach of the German Men’s Olympic Team for Beijing)
- Tayyab Ikram (FIH Master Coach & Coaching Manager, former National Team coach of Pakistan & China)
The organizing committee had prepared some interesting questions for all guests. The young players were also invited to fire their queries, ranging from “how many sticks do you bring to a game” and “what would you have done differently in the last part of today’s 2nd game” to “how many penalty corners a week do you take”.
The talk show ended with a autograph session, while all the participants had the opportunity to have an individual chat with the stars.
