When:
17, 18 & 19 May 2008

Where:
In two major cities of Iran. One as host of indoor tournament, the other as the host of the meeting

Target group:
The youth at all specially U-16 and young umpires

Number of participants:
120 players and 60 persons in the Meeting held for these dates.

Number of spectators:
Around 150

Program:
8 top teams (U-16) throughout the country were invited to compete against each other and the umpires from the same age group also officiated.

Aim of the event:
To encourage the youth to play and continue hockey and let them better know hockey is a sport for everyone with any condition and let the public know about hockey more by sending brochures to their houses and invite them to watch what hockey is by the real meaning.

Result of the event:

  • Participation of more numbers of fans
  • More youth took part than last year
  • Registration of new players

Follow up:

  • U-12 indoor tournament
  • U-16 tournament – Iranian Olympiad - 18 teams
  • U-18 tournament – Iranian Olympiad - 20 teams
  • U-23 tournament – Iranian Olympiad - 24 teams
  • Youth Challenge Tournament

TV and Media Coverage:
The oldest and most famous Iranian Sport Program will show the event as a movement to develop hockey throughout the country especially schools then recorded videos will be distribute amongst those involved anyway and the fans.
