Aim of the event:
To promote Youth hockey all over New Zealand and to promote and emphasise this years theme of ‘Live the Dream’. Also to make more people (both youth and adults) aware that hockey has been at the Olympics for 100 years.

Result of the event:
Some great initiatives were created by our regional associations to promote Youth Week, such as Olympic banner competitions (see photos) and we had some excellent entries for both our coloring in competition and our Motivational Poster competition. Overall youth in New Zealand seemed to enjoy this years Live the Dream Youth Week.

Follow up:
Next year we will align our Youth Week so that it takes place 1-2 weeks after the Junior Season has started in NZ to maximize the number of participants.

Organized by:
Hockey NZ Coaching and Development

TV and Media Coverage:
We had two articles about Youth Week published in local newspapers in New Zealand.
