Accra Hockey Pitch – artificial turf, Dansoman – laterite, Cape Coast - grass, Elmina - laterite, Suhum – laterite and Kumasi – grass

Young people between ages 5 - 21

Program:

  1. Teaching of skills and skill activities
  2. Quizzes on Olympic Games and hockey
  3. Mini hockey tournament
  4. Art competitions

Aim of the event:
To introduce and deepen the interest of hockey in young people and also teach them more about hockey and the Olympic Games

Outcomes of the event:
The event was successful as it was held in six (6) locations in four (4) different Regions of the country at the same time. Some of the events took place in the community and schools and this ensured that spectators who were members of the community/school were also introduced to hockey.

Follow up:
The Development and Coaching Committee as part of its youth development programs intends to continue to involve the community and develop the interest of the new players who have been identified.
