More than 100

More than 200 (incl. parents)

Program:
The event was held in Taipa National Stadium and KY School. It was attended by over 100 participants and started as early as the 14 May 2008. 

Mini Hockey games were played for 2 different categories, children under 10 and under 16. The games were played well in both categories. The youth were also given a chance to umpire in the game as a way to explore and improve their abilities & standard. 

During the event, there are also other programs which as includes skill efficiency (pentathlon), such as Jumble Hockey word & Puzzle, Hockey Quiz Competition and others.

We have also organized a small scale of hockey Coaching & Umpire workshop as to find young coaches & umpires age 16 to 20 as part of our country Hockey youth development program. Refreshments were available for all participants’ throughout the event & some prizes were given to selected youths.

Aim of the event:
To promote Hockey as a life sport as well as to improve our country youths social, physical, emotional abilities. Through this event we hope to be able to offer a greater chance for children to become a confident and enthusiastic hockey player/sportsman and creating a broaden base of Hockey family. In the coaching & umpiring workshop, we are hoping for the youths to gain an up to date knowledge about Hockey and to improve their technical & tactical abilities as well as to enjoy their coaching & umpiring experiences

Result of the event:
Very Successful. Through the event Hockey has becoming a more familiar sport in the Country

Follow up:

  • In July and August, Macau Hockey Association will organize Training & Coaching Camp
  • In September, the selected children from the event will be on tour to Hong Kong and China
  • Hockey Sixes Competition will be held in October or November 2008
  • Will Organize Coaching & Umpiring Courses for the young & talented (selected during the Hockey Sixes Competition)
