What was the aim of the event?
The aim was to give the kids chance to take part in unforgettable event, where everything was planned for them. It was an opportunity to familiarize them with other surfaces that hockey can be played on.
Description of the event?
During three days event all participants took part in Hockey Tournaments. Boys played in Gasawa and Chomiaza Szlachecka and girls played in Rogowo. Apart from games there was rich non-hockey program prepared.
On Friday evening after the games there was a big disco organized for all participants. The official opening on Saturday was held in ZauroLand which is a new dinosaurs park near Rogowo. Over 40 dinosaurs 1:1 scale models were available for all participants together with various games and competitions.
Together with kids competitions the was a lot of activities organized for their parents. Such as horse riding, bicycle trips, beach hockey competition and many many others.
Great part in organization of the Marathon was done by our Youth Panel.
Result of the event?
We have gathered almost 500 participants both kids and adults. We were visited by teams from Lithuania, Ukraine, Scotland and Germany. Great opportunity for participants to meet peers from different countries
Follow-up of the event?
Kids coming back home after tournament and encouraging their friends to take up hockey because of the fun that it gives. More youth and youth clubs in regions. We hope that kids while going to holidays this summer, will take their sticks and will try to play hockey on any possible surface(beach, pavement, backyard etc.).
