Pakistan 8 Great Britain 2
Pakistan turned on a scintillating display of attacking hockey when they went on a second half goal scoring spree against Great Britain thrashing them 8-2. Leading 2-1 at half time, Pakistan scored twice in four minutes after the restart before finding the net at regular intervals racing to a 7-1 lead to effectively kill off Britain.
Germany 2 Korea 2
Germany snatched the fourth semi final berth in dramatic style after Bjoern Emmerling grabbed the equaliser four minutes from time to steer his side to a 2-2 draw against Korea and knock the Sydney silver medallists out of the medals. But Korea only had themselves to blame after missing two glorious chances late in the match which would have taken the game beyond Germany's reach.
India 2 Argentina 2
Argentina struck with a late penalty corner to earn a 2-2 draw with India, and set up an intriguing clash against their traditional rivals Pakistan in the 5-8th play offs. The Pan American champions twice came from behind to level the scores but it wasn't enough to lift off the bottom of the table and they meet Great Britain in their next outing in the 9-12 classification matches.
Holland 2 Australia 1
Holland face a semi final contest against their arch rivals, Germany, after topping their pool with a 2-1 triumph over Australia in an enthralling tussle in their last group game. Two goals in the opening 13 minutes by Taeke Taekema put the reigning Olympic champions 2-0 ahead and although the Kookaburras responded to pull a goal back shortly before half time, neither side could find the net in a pulsating second period.
