FIH to broadcast BDO WorldHockey Monthly over Internet
17 Jun 2005 13:34

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has begun screening its four-weekly television magazine program, BDO WorldHockey Monthly, over the Internet on FieldHockey TV.

“The ability of FIH and FieldHockey TV to broadcast BDO WorldHockey Monthly over the internet free of charge allows hockey fans to watch the programme wherever they are in the world,” FIH President Els van Breda Vriesman said.

“This exciting initiative complements the existing broadcast arrangements currently in place which has the programme screened in more than 50 countries.”

“It is interesting to note that FIH is the first international sporting association to broadcast a video magazine programme across the Internet free of charge as part of an active marketing strategy to promote hockey throughout the world. We are proud that our platform, TV Station In a Box, is being utilised in this truly multimedia approach,” CEO of Narrowstep Inc., Iolo Jones, said.

BDO WorldHockey Monthly will be programmed, as part of the daily TV schedule (four times a day) on www.fieldhockey.tv and will also available on demand. Visitors to the FieldHockey TV website can access the programme by typing 'BDO' into the search component of the On Demand section.

Since its official launch in October 2003, FieldHockey TV has attracted more than 1.6 million viewers, providing Internet users from around the world with the opportunity to watch the best in field hockey at their own time and leisure. FieldHockey TV brings action from all corners of the world and is free to access.
