The Code of Conduct Hearing was held at 19:00 on 2008-08-12 at the Olympic Green Hockey Stadium with respect to a report received by the Technical Delegate (TD) which indicated an alleged breach of the FIH Code of Conduct by the Korean team.

Reported Breach of the FIH Code of Conduct:

That LEE Seon Ok, Team Captain (Player # 7) and HAN Jin Soo, Team Coach, failed to attend the Press Conference post match and that their non-appearance was in breach of section 3 of the FIH Code of Conduct which states as follows:

“3. It shall be compulsory for a team coach and team captain (or other nominated player as required by the Media Manager) to attend a media conference if requested.”

Decision of the TD:

The TD, after reviewing the evidence and hearing submissions from the Korean, decided as follows:      

that LEE Seon Ok, Team Captain (Player # 7) receives an official warning for not turning up at the media conference.

that HAN Jin Soo, Team Coach, receives an official warning for not turning up at the media conference.

That failure by the Korean Coach and Captain (or alternate player) to attend the mandatory media conference immediately after their remaining matches during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will be deemed a further breach of the FIH Code of Conduct and considered as a Level 2 offence (recurrent breach of Level 1 behaviour) which requires a minimum two (2) match suspension.
