FIH appoints Martyn Gallivan as Competitions Manager
30 Mar 2010 15:55

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has appointed Martyn Gallivan as its Competitions Manager. Gallivan, a 55-years old British citizen, takes over from Dennis Meredith who retires at the end of March. Gallivan will commence his work at the FIH on 6 April 2010.

The Welsh Gallivan is well known in the hockey world. Not only as player of the Cardiff Hockey Club, but also as Grade 1 International Umpire, both Outdoor and Indoor. He is currently member of the FIH Umpiring Committee, Secretary of the EHF Outdoor Competitions Committee and member of the EHF Appointments Committee.

‘I am very pleased that a hockey person like Martyn has joined the FIH in this key position for competitions’, FIH President Leandro Negre said. ‘I know him for many years and I wish him all the best in his new position.’

‘It is a great honor for me to be the new FIH Competitions Manager’, Gallivan stated. ‘I am looking forward to the challenges it will present at this pivotal moment for our sport.’
